Dubai Airport Lighitng Retrofit Project Phase-1 Dubai International Airport is the primary international airport serving Dubai and is the world's busiest airport by international passenger traffic.It is also the busiest airport for Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 movements, and the airport with the highest average number of passengers per flight. "To begin with, putting together the project in place was a challenge, as not only had the lights to meet Dubai Airports' highest quality standards, but also must guarantee long-term high energy savings." Comments on the project by chief executive officer of Etihad Esco, Ali Al Jassim. he also added that Sharaf DG Energy had worked with several vendors to meet the project’s standards. The project was completed in 2 years and had to be carried out despite pandemic delays, and constraints such the vast real estate. Lighting technology from Germany’s Sylvania and EWO was used for the project. Sharaf DG Energy replaced 15,500 outdoor and indoor lights at the terminals with energy saving LED lights, resulting in the replacement of 8,500 outdoor lights, including high-mast lighting, and 7,000 indoor fixtures. Sharaf DG guaranteed maintenance and warranty on all the installed LED lighting systems for next 7 years and ensured a guaranteed savings bond for the warranty period.
